Finding Employment and Discovering Opportunities

Updated: Jan 13, 2021

My story starts out pretty simple, I’m a woman living in North Dakota and I’ve been here for 4 years now. I have a few differences. One, I’m overweight (down 70 lbs. since the beginning of the year and working on losing more). Two, I suffer from agoraphobia, large crowds send me into a tailspin. I was having trouble finding a job because of that latter difference. So, by suggestion, I turned to Independence, Inc. for help. That is when I met Connie (miss you!), with her help I got a job at a hotel. I felt great! After getting the job, I joined other things Independence, Inc. was offering. I completed Community Leadership Academy, joined IL Ambassadors and Toastmasters. Everything that I joined pushed me out of my comfort zone but helped me control my attacks from the phobia. I have made many friends through all I do with Independence, Inc. Thank you Independence, Inc. for enriching my life!
