Earth Day + Energy Efficiency

Independence, Inc. recently joined forces with local environmentalists and area businesses to support a community-wide initiative to build a more sustainable Minot. In an effort to further our commitment to protecting the environment, Independence, Inc. will host a virtual Earth Day workshop on Thursday, April 22, 2021, from 3:30-5:00 PM. The special edition class will feature an informative presentation on energy consumption from Verendrye Electric, member services, and communications manager, Tom Rafferty. Participants will learn about responsible energy use and the functions of an electric vehicle. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to create recycled crafts and discover simple ways to reduce their carbon footprint. The class is FREE and available to anyone ages 8 or older with a physical disability, mental health condition, substance use disorder, cancer, degenerative disease, chronic illness, learning or cognitive disability, phobia, brain injury, or senior. Registration is required as class space is limited. The registration deadline is Monday, April 19, 2021, or until spots are filled.
