About the Event
Independence, Inc. is pleased to announce the return of its popular guided art and mental health activity, Brushes and Brains! The agency invites people with disabilities to participate in a St.Patrick’s Day virtual painting lesson on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 4:00 P.M. The art class will be facilitated by Program Director and professionally trained artist, Jamie Hardt via Zoom. Participants will have the opportunity to practice healthy coping techniques and express themselves through a creative outlet during the month of March.
- The class is FREE and available to anyone with a physical disability, mental health condition, substance abuse disorder, chronic illness, degenerative disease, learning or cognitive disability, phobia, brain injury, or senior.
- Participants will be provided with an art kit delivered directly to their homes. Supplies include an 8”x10” canvas, acrylic paint, and brushes.
- Registration is required as class space and supplies are limited. The registration deadline is Tuesday, March 2nd, or until spots are filled.
Note: Supplies are intended for class use only. Registrants are expected to log-in and participate in the virtual art lesson via Zoom. If you receive an art kit and are unable to fulfill the participation requirement, you may be obligated to pay a fee of $12 to cover the cost of supplies or return the kit.
