Living Well with a Disability
The workshop includes ten, 2-hour, weekly sessions that are grounded in consumer choice and peer support. The topics of these sessions focus on adapting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and include: goal setting, problem solving, healthy reactions, beating the blues, healthy communication, seeking information, physical activity, eating well, advocacy, and maintenance. We will be covering a wide range of topics to ensure that we address the needs of each individual. The Living Well workshop will also teach people to use tools that help them continue or begin to do the things they enjoy. The healthier a person is, the more he or she can do. Living Well participants begin by developing goals that are meaningful to them. They will then make the connection between healthy behaviors and reaching their goals. Consequently, they will “live well!” We hope that you will come take part in this amazing program.
