Living Well with a Disability
We are excited to announce that we are offering a great new program at Independence, Inc. The Living Well with a Disability program focuses on encouraging people to improve their lives by learning about healthy lifestyles. This program is a health promotion and wellness workshop designed specifically for anyone with a disability or physical limitation. As with the general population, people who complete the Living Well program report better health and quality of life even as they use fewer medical services.

Advocacy Leadership Program – Session Schedule
Independence, Inc. is excited to continue offering individuals with disabilities a skills development course focusing on independent living and advocacy. Participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about the history of the disability rights movement; the legislative process and how to effectively communicate with elected officials; your rights as an individual with a disability; and the strategies, resources, and skills for making positive changes in your life. The Advocacy Leadership Program has been modified for the convenience of the participants. Participants will attend a course session for one-half day, with a choice between a morning or afternoon session. The sessions are scheduled in June, September and November of 2009. There is no fee to participate and all participants will receive free resource materials. Please contact us for additional information or to request a registration form.
